There is a problem that develops with Outlook Express 6 after installing security updates. The program may stop allowing you to view any attachments, claiming that they are all unsafe or may contain a virus. Following these steps may help.

In Outlook Express, click 'Tools/Options'...
outlook express - click tools - options

then click the security tab,
click the security tab

click the "Internet zone" radio button,
click the internet zone button

uncheck "Do not allow attachments...",
uncheck do not allow attachments...

and click OK to finish.
click ok to finish
